The components that comprise the Axia system are
completely modular - "building blocks" that you can mix,
match and combine to make something as simple as a 16-channel
audio snake, or as complex as a 30-studio audio network with
complete routing, communications, mixing and control
functionality.

iQ Console + Router System
The iQ console + routing system is an all-in-one system that
can be used to build custom consoles of sizes from 8 to 24
faders. The basic system consists of one 8-Fader iQ Main
Frame (P/N 2001-00275) and one iQ Core integrated console
engine (P/N 2001-00275), which includes a DSP-based mixing
engine, audio I/O, machine-control logic and Ethernet
switch. Faders and control capabilities can be expanded by
adding one or more of the iQ Expansion Frames described
below. The iQ control surface plugs into the iQ Core using a
single CANBus connector; the system can operate as a
standalone console or (using one of two Gigabit ports on the
Core’s Ethernet switch) as part of a larger Axia network. Up
to 4 iQ Cores may be daisy-chained without the need for an
external Ethernet switch. 3 dedicated stereo Program buses,
plus a stereo Utility bus that can be used for phone calls,
off-air recording, or as a fourth Program bus. Features
include automatic mix-minus on each fader, talkback
functions, one-button off-air Record Mode, dedicated
six-line phone system with on-console hybrid controls, Show
Profile functions for instant recall of up to 4 pre-defined
console “snapshots”, switchable VU/PPM program meters,
high-resolution OLED option displays, Studio and Control
Room monitor controls. Optional auto-switching backup power
supply is available. iQ console frames may be placed on top
of desk surface, mounted drop-in style, or easily converted
to rack-mounting using included hardware.
Requires iQ Core, below.

Axia Studio Mix Engine
The networked Studio Engine, based on a
Pentium IV motherboard running real-time Linux, provides
bulletproof mixing console signal processing. All
connections into and out of the Studio Engine are via a
single 1000BT Ethernet port. Generally, one Studio Mix
Engine is required for each radio studio. Each engine is
equipped with multiple simultaneous inputs, outputs,
mix-minus feeds, monitor signals, etc. Additionally, the
Studio Mix Engine can provide EQ for multiple channels and
has extra capacity to support expansion features.
Auto-sensing power supply, 90VAC to 240VAC, 50 Hz to 60 Hz.
100 Watts. Rackmount, 2RU. Requires one unused Gigabit
Ethernet port for connection to an Axia network. One Studio
Engine required for each control surface.

Axia
Router
Selector Node
The Axia Router Selector Node allows selection of any
shared audio source on the Axia network. Plus, its audio
input makes it convenient to add an on-the-fly source to the
Axia network. Scroll the list of available sources, or use
the eight programmable “radio buttons” for instant access to
frequently used sources. Has stereo audio inputs and outputs
– both AES/EBU and analog – and a front-panel headphone
jack. Because of the built-in audio I/O, this device is
excellent for news or production rooms that need to access
the IP-Audio network. Requires one unused 100Base-T Ethernet
port for connection to an Axia network. Auto-sensing power
supply, 90VAC to 240VAC, 50 Hz to 60 Hz. 30 Watts. Rackmount,

Axia Analog
Line Node
The Analog line node has eight balanced stereo inputs and
eight balanced stereo outputs, presented on easy-to-install
RJ-45connectors. The inputs are switchable to accommodate
consumer level -10dBv or professional level +4dBu. The
short-circuit protected outputs are capable of delivering up
to +24 dBu before clipping. Create an Ethernet audio snake
with Axia Analog Audio Nodes at each end (or mix and match
digital, microphone and analog line terminals), a single
100Base-T link can be used to send and receive 8 stereo
audio channels, eliminating old-fashioned multi-pair cable.
Superior performance specs include 102dB of dynamic range,
<0.005% THD. Requires one unused 100Base-T Ethernet port for
connection to an Axia network. Auto-sensing power supply,
90VAC to 240VAC, 50 Hz to 60 Hz. 30 Watts. Rackmount, 1RU.

Axia AES/EBU
Digital Audio Node
The Axia AES Node provides eight digital AES3 inputs and
outputs. The Axia AES/EBU Node can also be employed as a
1x8, 2x4, 2x8, etc. AES distribution amplifier by using any
of the AES inputs to feed the eight AES outputs. Create an
Ethernet audio snake with AES/EBU Nodes at each end; a
single 100Base-T link can be used to send and receive 8
stereo audio channels, eliminating old-fashioned multi-pair
cable. Node can be used to receive AES house master clock to
synchronize the entire Livewire network. Stunning
performance specs like 138dB of dynamic range and <0.0003%
THD. Requires one unused 100Base-T Ethernet port for
connection to an Axia network. Auto-sensing power supply,

Axia Microphone
Node
The Microphone Node has eight phantom-powered mic inputs.
It also contains eight balanced stereo analog line outputs
for convenient delivery of associated headphone and studio
monitor feeds to the room in which the mics are located. The
inputs are on XLR connections while the outputs are on
RJ-45. The Axia Microphone Node can also be used as a
multiple-input mic preamp and A/D converter or as the
stage-end of a digital snake. Specs that would shame a
$200,000 recording console, such as EIN of < -128dB and THD
of <0.005%. Requires one unused 100Base-T Ethernet port for
connection to an Axia network. Auto-sensing power supply,
