D.A.V.I.D. Systems, one of the world’s most respected
suppliers of digital studio solutions, is now an Axia Audio partner.
Clients of D.A.V.I.D. Systems (www.davidsystems.us)
will now be able to purchase Axia IP-Audio networking components bundled
with and customized for their D.A.V.I.D. delivery systems.
Axia, the networked-audio division of Telos Systems, will
provide its IP-Audio Driver software to D.A.V.I.D. Systems. This new
driver technology allows any audio workstation PC running the Windows®
operating system to send studio-grade audio directly to an Axia audio
network from its network interface card, completely bypassing the need
for PC soundcards. D.A.V.I.D. Systems engineers are working together
with Axia to develop an even deeper integration between systems,
including enhanced support for GPIO messaging control in their version
of the IP-Audio Driver.
“One of the greatest advantages of an IP-Audio network is
its ability to carry not only audio, but control data, messaging and
Program-Associated Data on a single Ethernet link,” says Axia president
Michael Dosch. “D.A.V.I.D. Systems is keenly aware of this, and we’re
looking forward to working with them to help bring about converged
studio networks that can dramatically reduce cost, time and effort.”
“D.A.V.I.D. Systems has always designed its digital audio
solutions to integrate with the latest advances in computer networking
technologies,” comments Richard Doll, President of D.A.V.I.D. Systems,
Inc. “Axia's audio switching is a revolutionary concept that we are
pleased to facilitate as the next step of our natural evolution.”
D.A.V.I.D. Systems joins the growing list of Axia
partners (www.axiaaudio.com/partners/)
offering products that integrate with Axia IP-Audio networks. In
addition to the soundcard-eliminating IP-Audio driver, the Axia system
includes a family of microphone, analog line and AES/EBU “audio nodes”
and DSP mix engines, as well as the popular Element Modular Control
Surface and SmartSurface Studio Control Surface.
