Radio Systems announces their latest collaboration with
partner Axia Audio: the addition of Axia Livewire IP-Audio networking
technology to Radio Systems Millenium audio consoles.
Using a Livewire connection, Millenium consoles can
interface directly to Axia audio networks as well as other
Livewire-capable devices – such as digital delivery systems, codecs,
audio processors and more – exchanging program audio, machine logic and
program-associated data over a single Ethernet connection.
“The addition of Livewire to Radio Systems consoles
enables even more broadcasters to experience the benefits of IP-Audio
networking,” said Axia President Michael Dosch. “It’s exciting to see
more and more manufacturers implement this standard.”
Radio Systems President Dan Braverman adds, “Livewire
dramatically expands the functionality of our Millenium Digital console
line. The fact that a broadcaster can start with our stand-alone console
and add IP Audio connectivity adds great value.”
Radio Systems is a charter member of the Axia Partner
network; having partnered early on with their StudioHub+ system of CAT-5
wiring which connects directly to all Axia Audio Nodes, facilitating
fast, easy installation of IP-Audio networks.
Livewire technology allows broadcasters to build audio
networks of any size using standard Switched Ethernet to connect a few
rooms — or an entire facility, with up to 10,000 digital stereo audio
channels per system. Axia IP-Audio networks employ switched Ethernet to
carry audio, logic, program-associated data and other network traffic,
greatly reducing or eliminating much of the cost normally associated
with wiring labor and infrastructure.
Millenium Digital consoles are a recent addition to the
popular Radio Systems line of analog and digital consoles, available in
6, 12 and 18 channel configurations. Over 1500 Millenium consoles are in
use at small and large broadcast facilities throughout the US, New
Zealand and Africa.
