Two of Romania’s leading FM radio stations are
constructing new studios using Axia Livewire™ audio routing technology.
Europa FM and Radio 21, lifestyle stations owned by
French media conglomerate Lagardere (www.lagardere.com)
will complete construction of new on-air and production facilities in
January, 2007 using Axia IP-Audio equipment and Element modular control
surfaces.
Both stations broadcast via a national network and are
heard throughout Romania. The studios feature radio automation systems
from Axia partner Zenon-Media (www.zenon-media.net). The playout PCs use the Axia IP-Audio driver to
exchange digital audio directly with the Axia network, eliminating the
need for third-party sound cards.
Over 400 studios have now been constructed worldwide
using Axia IP-Audio networking, which enables broadcasters to build
facilities of any size using standard switched Ethernet to connect a few
rooms — or an entire facility. The Axia product line includes the
popular Element and SmartSurface control surfaces, a family of “audio
nodes” to interface with microphone, analog line and AES/EBU devices,
IP-Audio drivers to eliminate PC soundcards, DSP mixing/processing
engines, and PathfinderPC matrix control PC software.
