MTV Networks’ Country Music Television (www.cmt.com)
has purchased Axia Element mixing consoles and routing gear for use in
their Nashville studios.
Among the equipment purchased are two 20-position Element 2.0
consoles, each paired with one of Axia’s new PowerStation integrated
console engines, to be used in CMT’s program origination studios, and
Axia’s PathfinderPC® router control software suite.
PowerStation, introduced at NAB 2009, was the winner of both Radio
World’s “Cool Stuff” and Radio magazine’s “Pick Hit” awards
for its seamless integration of audio I/O, console CPU, mixing engine,
Ethernet switch and redundant backup power into a single, fanless
chassis.
Element 2.0, the latest version of Axia’s popular modular broadcast
console, has become a best-seller in just 5 short years. Over 1,500 Axia
consoles are already on-air around the world.
The Axia IP-Audio system allows broadcasters to build audio networks
of any size using standard switched Ethernet to connect a few rooms, or
an entire facility. Axia networks have a total system capacity of more
than 10,000 audio streams, and can carry hundreds of digital stereo (or
nearly a hundred surround) channels over a single CAT-6 cable,
eliminating much of the cost normally associated with wiring labor and
infrastructure.
