Digigram (www.digigram.com),
maker of sound cards and digital audio network devices for radio
broadcasters, is now an Axia Audio partner.
Axia, the networked-audio division of Telos Systems,
makes IP-Audio networking equipment that utilizes standard switched
Ethernet to provide an easy way to route and share audio and logic
throughout the broadcast plant. Now, clients with both Axia Livewire™
and Digigram Visiblu®-based products or software solutions will be able
to directly interface both systems. Visiblu is a Network Audio Operating
System typically used by Digigram’s development partners to develop
radio automation solutions with advanced IP audio management. Visiblu-enabled
solutions provide audio and data routing, encoding and processing across
wide area networks using standards-based protocols.
“The broadcast community has embraced networked audio as
the studio infrastructure of the future,” says Axia President Michael
“Catfish” Dosch. “That fact that there are already over 1,000 Axia
studios on-air worldwide confirms this. Our partnership with Digigram
will allow even more broadcasters to enjoy the many benefits audio
networks provide.”
“Visiblu-based products marketed by Digigram (typically
the IQOYA range of IP audio devices) and Visiblu-based radio automation
systems developed by Digigram’s development partners will definitely
benefit from this direct, efficient connectivity to Axia Livewire
networks. This new feature will immediately complement existing Visiblu
IP audio capabilities to/from web radios (Shoutcast, WMA/MMS), VoIP and
other EBU N/ACIP interoperable devices,” explains Philippe Delacroix,
Digigram President & CEO. “We see real value for developers and system
integrators in providing broadcasters with even more integrated
solutions that leverage IP–Audio’s impressive abilities.”
Digigram joins the growing list of Axia partners (www.AxiaAudio.com/partners/)
offering products that integrate with Axia IP-Audio networks. In
addition to the IP-Audio driver, Axia products include the popular
Element modular broadcast console, PowerStation integrated console
engine, a family of “audio nodes” that allow easy mixing and matching of
digital, analog and microphone audio, and a comprehensive suite of
network administration and routing control software.
