NewCap Radio (www.ncc.ca), one of Canada’s largest broadcast companies, is building new studios in two new markets using Axia IP-Audio consoles and networking equipment.

CFRQ-FM and CKUL-FM in Halifax, Nova Scotia along with CHNO-FM and CIGM in Sudbury, Ontario, will each receive new on-air and production facilities equipped with Axia Element 2.0 mixing consoles and Axia Audio Nodes. The sale was made by Pippin Technical Service Ltd. of Saskatoon, Axia’s distributor in Canada.

NewCap is a repeat Axia client, having already outfitted 14 other market clusters in cities such as Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, Fredericton and Charlottetown with Axia gear since 2005.

Axia IP-Audio networks allow broadcasters to build audio networks of any size using standard switched Ethernet to connect a few rooms, or an entire facility. Axia networks have a total system capacity of more than 10,000 audio streams, and can carry hundreds of digital stereo (or nearly a hundred surround) channels over a single CAT-6 cable, eliminating much of the cost normally associated with wiring labor and infrastructure. Element 2.0, the latest version of Axia's popular modular broadcast console, is a best-seller; over 1,500 Axia consoles have been installed around the world in just 6 short years.
