Philadelphia’s top-rated radio station, B101 (WBEB-FM), will soon be
upgrading their studios to an Axia IP-Audio routing network with Axia
Element 2.0 broadcast consoles. B101 becomes the latest in a string of
networked-studio upgrades in the City of Brotherly Love; the last 3
studio projects have all included Axia consoles and routing networks.
WBEB’s studio rebuild will comprise four 24-position Element consoles
and a total of 24 Axia Audio Nodes. The purchase also includes the
comprehensive Axia PathfinderPRO router control software suite; the sale
was made through Axia distributor Broadcasters General Store.
More than 1,000 studios worldwide are now on-the-air with Axia
IP-Audio systems, which enable broadcasters to build audio routing
networks of any size using standard switched Ethernet. Axia networks
have a total system capacity of more than 10,000 audio streams, and can
carry hundreds of digital stereo channels over a single CAT-6 cable.
