Vancouver,
Canada-based Burli Software Inc. (www.burli.com)
is the latest industry leader to become an Axia Livewire software
partner. Burli clients will now be able to purchase Axia IP-Audio
networking components bundled with and customized for use with the
popular Burli Newsroom System software for radio.
Axia, the networked-audio division of Telos Systems, will provide its
IP-Audio Driver software to Burli. This driver technology allows an
audio workstation to exchange studio-grade audio to an Axia audio
network directly from its network interface card, completely bypassing
the need for PC soundcards. The multi-channel version of the Driver,
available exclusively from Axia Software Partners, supports playback and
recording of up to 24 uncompressed stereo channels.
Livewire is the IP-Audio networking standard developed by Axia. It
utilizes standard Ethernet to enable easy routing and sharing of audio
and logic throughout the broadcast plant. Livewire systems are now
installed in over 2,000 studios.
“A good number of our mutual clients are already running both Burli
Newsroom software and Axia IP-Audio gear,” notes Burli General Manager
Ian Gunn, “and they’ve asked whether we might collaborate to enhance
integration between our products. I believe our companies’ association
will be a fruitful one for both our clients, and for us.”
Burli joins the growing list of Axia partners (www.AxiaAudio.com/partners/)
offering products that integrate with Axia IP-Audio networks. Axia
products include the popular Element 2.0 modular broadcast console, the
PowerStation integrated console engine, the IP-Intercom system, a family
of “audio nodes” that allow easy mixing and matching of digital, analog
and microphone audio, and a comprehensive suite of network
administration and routing control software.
