Family Friendly Radio’s WBGL-FM (www.wbgl.org)
in Champaign, Illinois has become a repeat Axia client, adding on to
their Axia network with a recent order of three Element 2.0 audio
consoles plus associated studio equipment. The purchase expands WBGL’s
Axia installation to four studios; the sale was made by Broadcasters
General Store of Ocala, Florida.
“WBGL put their first Axia studio on-air in 2005,” notes Axia
marketing director Clark Novak. “They were so pleased that when the time
came to refresh their other studios, they chose Axia again. We’re happy
to be a part of their growth!”
WGBL’s studio routing network now includes four networked Axia
consoles along with a variety of audio nodes and PowerStation integrated
console engines. The system also makes use of the Axia IP-Audio Driver
for Windows, a software application which enables PCs to output audio
for use directly on-air using the computer’s NIC instead of a sound
card.
Axia allows broadcasters to quickly and easily build audio networks
using switched Ethernet to connect a few rooms, or an entire facility.
Axia networks have a total system capacity of more than 10,000 audio
streams, and can carry hundreds of digital stereo channels over a single
CAT-6 cable, eliminating much of the cost normally associated with
wiring labor and infrastructure. Axia Element 2.0 radio consoles are
installed in over 2,000 studios worldwide.
