NewCap Radio (www.ncc.ca),
one of Canada's largest broadcast companies, has once more chosen to
equip its stations with Axia IP-Audio consoles and networking equipment.
Alberta’s CHLW (St. Paul), CKVH (High Prairie), and CFOK (Westlock)
will be treated to new Element 2.0 consoles and routing gear. NewCap
will also expand their Axia installation in Brooks, Alberta, with CIXF
joining sister CIBQ’s existing studio network.
The sale was made by Pippin Technical Service Ltd. of Saskatoon,
Axia’s distributor in Canada. NewCap is a repeat Axia client, having
outfitted 15 other market clusters in cities such as Ottawa, Edmonton,
and Calgary with Axia gear since 2005.
Axia allows broadcasters to quickly and easily build audio networks
using switched Ethernet to connect a few rooms, or an entire facility.
Axia networks have a total system capacity of more than 10,000 audio
streams, and can carry hundreds of digital stereo channels over a single
CAT-6 cable, eliminating much of the cost normally associated with
wiring labor and infrastructure. Axia Element 2.0 radio consoles are a
hit, with installations in over 2,000 studios worldwide.
